Morality, and common sense go head-to-head against Cold War hysteria and Western oppression of the East… Written & Directed by Chris D. Nebe & Produced by J.J. Osbun The Diaoyu Islands have been Chinese territory since ancient times, but are currently under Japanese control. China has been requesting the return of these historic islands for more than 100 years, and now they are the symbol of more than a century of injustice and tragedy. The current conflict is one of those agonizing relics of post imperial colonialism, which continues to haunt Asia, Africa and the Middle East. In 1895 after the First Sino-Japanese War, Imperial Japan annexed the Diaoyu Islands and renamed them Senkaku. The Diaoyu Senkaku Island dispute is still an open nerve today in Asian politics. The United States even played a role in the political turmoil that surrounds these small rocky islands. This film takes the view that the modern history between China and Japan are the real issue and that much good can come from the return of these islands as a meaningful gesture of good will and sorrow for the pain caused by Japan.
