Dynamic culture & history in the eastern seaboard of China… Discover Jiangsu Province, which stretches along the Yellow Sea coastline for over a thousand kilometers. It is a land full of history and wealth. One facet of its wealth is water. The mighty Yangtze River in the south, the legendary Grand Canal that cuts thought from the North and thousands of lakes make Jiangsu water rich. Marco Polo’s “Il Milone” documents the canal, which remains the longest man-made canal in the world, dating back to the 5th Century BC. Over the centuries this prosperous province has been home to many great philosophers, writers, politicians and even emperors, who made Nanjing one of the “Four Great Ancient Capitals” of China. Today Nanjing is the capital of Jiangsu, China’s most densely populated province. Jiangsu borders Shanghai in the Southeast. The Nobel and Pulitzer Prize winning American writer, Pearl S. Buck, grew up in Jiangsu. This film was made in association with Tina Yao of L&D Media.
